Apple Scruffs roster for 2011 fantasy baseball season

This is my first year doing fantasy baseball & I’m kind of learning everything as I go, from what I’ve read stolen bases gets you a lot of points & RBI, Runs, & HITS of course. As for pitching I think maybe like strike outs, strikes, & having a low WHIP. Honestly I don’t know, although I easily could just look it up but I’m just a bit lazy. So as you can see below this is my fantasy roster for 2011 season & my teams name is Apple Scruffs.

Why Rodgers could win Super Bowl 45

It started on a late Thursday night of November 27 2007 when Rodgers stepped in for an injured Favre against the Dallas Cowboys. Rodgers completed 18 passes while throwing for 201 yards a touchdown & zero picks. In 2008 in his first year as a starter Rodgers completed 63% of his passes while throwing for 4,038 yards 28 touchdowns & just 13 picks finishing with 93.8 passer rating, he also had 4 rushing touchdowns. In his second year as a starter he improved with a 103.2 passer rating while throwing for 4,434 yards 30 touchdowns 7 interceptions while completing 64% of his passes also had 5 rushing touchdowns. In his third season he would have been the first player in NFL history to have passed 4000+ yards in his first 3 seasons as a starter but due to having a concussion he was forced to sit out one game as he finished the 2010 regular season with 3,992 yard 28 touchdowns 11 interceptions 4 rushing touchdowns & finished with a 101.2 passer rating while completing 65% of his passes. Rodgers performs so well in domes he has a 106.4 passer rating in 10 career starts with 2,645 passing yards 18 touchdowns & 5 interceptions. His 106.4 passer rating in domes since 2008 ranks no. 1 in the NFL. There is no denying the fact that Rodgers can lead his team to beat the Steelers & escape the shadow of the Favre legacy in Greenbay, but defeating the steelers will take more than just luck & cleverness. It will take determination and flawless execution on his part. Remember we are talking about a man who has carried a team that's been plagued with injuries through 19 games, he has not come this far to just loose. There's a reason he's playing in the Super Bowl, he's coming into his own & developing into a great quarterback before our eyes and on this magical Sunday when he play's in the greatest sporting event of all time he will show the world what he's capable of.

Charles in Charge (7-22-10)

Are we ready for some football? I would say we all are, and as a Chiefs fan this is the best part of the season, the pre pre season and of course in the pre pre season you always have the delusional thinking that this our year, we’re bringing it home which hasn’t happened since the 1969 season but that’s what makes the pps so great, we get to get caught up in fantasy land.
Over the past three years has been nothing but sadness, what do you expect when you go
10-38 over a three year period. With the countless pitiful seasons, the quarterback carousel of Damon Huard, Brodie Croyle, Tyler Thigpen, and now Matt Cassle. The retiring of a legend (Priest Holmes) & the departure of Jared Allen who went to Minnesota & the greatest tight end to ever play the game Tony Gonzalez who was dealt to Atlanta on request.
During the offseason the Chiefs have made allot of moves & I believe they are heading in the right direction. In the second year of Scott Pioli as general manager he has made several changes for instance he dealt away Larry Johnson rightfully so after making homophobic remarks about the team, organization and Kansas City. He fired Herman Edwards and hired Todd Haley last year and this year he hired former Patriot alums Charlie Weis and Romeo Crennel, plus let’s not forget Weis and Crennel helped coach the Patriots to three Super Bowl victories within four years while Pioli was gm. Probably the biggest acquisition this offseason was the signing of Thomas Jones who signed a two year deal. This will no doubt help the struggling offence. They drafted Eric Berry a safety out of Tennessee, Dexter McCluster a running back out of Ole Miss who will most likely be a K&PR, and Javier Arenas a corner back out of Alabama.
The Chiefs have a lot of talent and with good coaching there should be no reason they can’t contend. The only major weakness I see in the Kansas City Chiefs is at QB. Matt Cassle threw as many touchdowns as he did interceptions. Now, there are no more excuses. He should know his offense, his teammates and himself enough to show that he’s worth the money and faith the Chiefs have invested in him. Probably the most exciting player to watch for is Jamaal Charles. Last year he had four 100 plus yard rushing games in the Chiefs final four games while scoring six touchdowns over the final six games and on top of that he rushed for 259 yards on 25 carries, scoring 2 touchdowns and breaking the Chiefs single game rushing record against Denver. Charles in Charge also became the only player in NFL history to rush for 1,100 or more yards in 200 or fewer carries.
I think we as fans have the right to have the delusion of winning the big one this year, with so much talent and the luck of being in a weak division. For my final thought, this year will be the first year in a long time that the Chiefs will host Monday Night Football against San Diego in the opening week. Also this year the great Marty Shottenhiemer will be inducted into the Chiefs HOF as well as he should be, he is the winningest head coach of the Chiefs and winningest head coach to never win a Super Bowl, no one deserves to win the big one more than Marty as he brought winning back to Kansas City with his memorable Marty Ball.

Sky Might Fall (7-9-10)

When I woke this morning I wondered to myself if it had really happened. I flipped on espn and sure enough it was real and not a dream. With Lebron going to South Beach and leaving his hometown Cleveland to join Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade to form there own powerhouse as Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, & Kevin Garnett did in 2008. On paper the Miami Heat Big Three seems like they could bring at least four championships to South Beach. What Miami is going to have to do is get key role players for the minimum salary. In theory that shouldn’t be hard, who wouldn’t want to play with three of the best players in the game? One player of the heat I think you should watch for and develop into a good player is Mario Chalmers. The Former KU guard is coming into his third year and has averaged 8.6 ppg and 4.2 ast. Even though he only started twenty two games last year this coming season I would say is a make or break.
I almost kind of want this back fire on the great King James. Cleveland did not deserve what they got, I don’t hold Lebron going to Miami against him, it’s how he did it. There was no reason for him to set up a national address last night. His actions last night showed the true meaning of Lebron, what he showed last night to the world was that he's immature, narcissistic, and has a pseudo god like persona.
The Cavs fans deserve better than that. I understand in the end it’s a business. But to see what the city of Cleveland has gone through in the world of sports in my life time is almost sad. The Browns have had draft bust after draft bust and not to mention in 1996 they were sold and went to Baltimore and won the Superbowl in 2000. The Indians haven’t won a World series since 1948 and choked in 1997 with only two outs away, They also traded away two Cy Young winners Cliff Lee & C.C. Sabathia. Lebron was Cleveland’s only hope to end the darkness and bring light to the city of Cleveland.

ten worst sports teams today

With the Clippers I'm going to keep this short & simple. No team has combined losing, mismanagement, and poor fan relationships better than the "other" team in L.A.. Oh and one playoff appearance in 15 seasons
Yes we know you have John Wall but that still doesn't change the fact that the Washington Wizards are no good. In 1995 the then Bullets. Owner Abe Pollin changed the name due to violent overtones (Gilbert Arenas would disagree), so he changed the name to the Wizards which coincidentally is a ranking in the Ku Klux Klan, but that's neither here nor there. They have not won a Title since 1978, had to deal with MJ's signing of Kwamie Brown & multiple horrible trades. I will give them the fact that they have had some good seasons in the past ten years but the just don't live up to the hype. The past two years they have went 45-119. But hey look on the bright side, John Wall can do the Dougie to entertain you.
Beside the fact the mascot being REALLY RACIST, this team overall just sucks & some might say unlucky. The Indians have one of the longest championship droughts in sports, as Cleveland has not won the World Series since 1948. In 1995, the high-powered Indians offense was held to a .179 batting average in a six-game loss to the Atlanta Braves and in 1997, shortstop Tony Fernandez missed a sure out as he pulled a Bill Buckner and let a ground ball go through his legs in the bottom of the 11th inning of Game 7. The Florida Marlins would score in that inning to win the World Series. The past ten years have been up's and downs as they have lost TWO Cy Young winners (Lee & Sabathia) and have only made the post season twice, and there overall record for past ten years is 836-897.
Remember in 2008 when they LOST EVERY GAME & then in 2009 only won TWO? Well the reason why the Detroit Lions aren't number one on this list is the future may be the brightest for a team that has not been in the postseason in over a decade. Ford Field is a great stadium that does not field a great team, which is a shame. Fortunately, they are not the only team that can say it plays in a better place than their product. New draftees Ndamukong Suh and Jahvid Best have what it takes to produce in the NFL for years to come. Add to that what appears to be a franchise quarterback in Matthew Stafford if he doesn't get injured every time he enters a game, and other legit talents like wide receiver Calvin Johnson, and you have the makings of a rebirth.
Probably the best team on this list but they haven't won a world series in 103 years, so.... yeah. Pretty much what I'm trying to say is, WINNING IS EVERYTHING!!!
Yes the very underrated city of Cleveland is back on this list. The Cleveland Browns are the only franchise in the NFL who moved to a different city but did not take its name and records along for the change. They came back in the late 90’s managed just one post season appearance since 1999, losing to Pittsburgh. Not to mention draft bust after draft bust. Remember Courtney Brown, Tim Couch, Brady Quinn, & William Green TOTAL BUSTS. The only two good picks was Braylon Edwards & Kellen Winslow Jr. & they traded both of them. I'm so so sorry Cleveland.
The city has seen three World Series Championships from the team, but are on a current 13 year playoff hiatus and a 28 year absence from the World Series. In those same past 13 seasons without a playoff appearance, the team has finished as high as 3rd in the A.L. East just once and finishing below .500 each season.
Never mind championships, pennants or division titles, the Pittsburgh Pirates haven't even had a winning season in 18 years. They continually field one of the youngest and most inexperienced rosters in the league and are always rebuilding. But hey at least they play in a nice park.

After losing to Tampa Bay in the 2002 Super Bowl, the Raiders have just become a catastrophe of a squad. A black hole, (pun intended) not to mention the almighty Al Davis. JaMarcus Russell who ate his was out of the league and caught charge for having sizzzurp & did I mention the biggest draft bust EVER. Oh yeah they also drafted Darrius Heyward-Bey before Michael Crabtree and lets not forget the Raiders first round pick in 2000 kicker Sebastian Janikowski. Yes, they picked a KICKER in the first round, letting Chad Pennington, Shaun Alexander and Keith Bulluck slip to other teams in the first round.

Any team that averages a whopping 96 losses per season may as well make their vacation plans for October in April! There should be someway to kick out owners out of a league if they aren’t even trying. They have one winning season in the last 15 years and have managed to finish over 30 games back from first six times. Even in baseball where the least amount of teams make the playoffs each year you should expect that each team make the postseason at least once in 25 years, something the Royals have not been able to manage. They trade away star players (Beltron, Dye, Damon, De Larosa). Whats sad is the Royals never re-sign key players & stars, and never puts a team on the field that is remotely competitive. Allot of experts say the Royals have the best farm system but until they start competing, show some form of effort and quit playing the "we're rebuilding" card they will continue to be number one on this list.
